Frequently Asked Questions
What order of operations does this calculator use?
It follows PEMDAS/BODMAS: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division (left to right), Addition and Subtraction (left to right). So 2 + 3 × 4 = 14, not 20.
How do I switch between degrees and radians for trig functions?
Use the DEG/RAD toggle. In radians, sin(π/2) = 1; in degrees, sin(90) = 1. Always confirm the mode before calculating angles.
What does the factorial (n!) function do?
It multiplies all positive integers from 1 to n. So 5! = 5 × 4 × 3 × 2 × 1 = 120. By convention, 0! = 1. Factorials grow extremely fast.
Why does log mean different things in different contexts?
On most scientific calculators, "log" is base 10 (common log) and "ln" is base e (natural log). In pure math papers, "log" can mean ln. Check which convention the source uses.
