What is reproduction ratio?

Another name for magnification ratio. 1:2 means the image is half the size of the subject; 1:1 is life-size; 2:1 is twice life-size (super-macro).

Does sensor size affect magnification?

No - magnification is purely an optical ratio. A crop sensor frames a tighter portion of the same projection, but magnification itself is unchanged.

Why is working distance important?

More working distance lets you avoid casting a shadow on the subject or scaring insects. Longer macro lenses (90, 100, 180 mm) give more working distance at 1:1.
