Dew Point Calculator

Calculate dew point temperature from air temperature and relative humidity, and assess comfort level.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the dew point?

The temperature at which air becomes saturated and water vapor condenses. Higher dew point means more moisture in the air, regardless of current temperature.

How does dew point relate to comfort?

Below 55°F dew point feels comfortable. 60-65°F starts to feel sticky. Above 70°F is oppressive and increases heat illness risk because sweat can't evaporate efficiently.

Why is dew point a better humidity measure than RH?

Relative humidity changes with temperature even when moisture is constant. Dew point is an absolute measure - it tells you how much water is actually in the air.

When does fog or dew form?

When air cools to its dew point, moisture condenses on surfaces (dew) or in the air (fog). Cool, calm nights with high dew points produce heavy dew.
