How do I calculate pressure at ocean depth?

Use the density of seawater, about 1025 kg/m³, which is denser than fresh water because of dissolved salt. At 100 m down, P = 1025 × 9.81 × 100 ≈ 1,005,500 Pa ≈ 1,006 kPa - roughly 10 atm of gauge pressure, or about 146 psi. Add 1 atm (101,325 Pa) for the absolute pressure a diver actually experiences. Because seawater is about 2.5 percent denser than fresh water, ocean pressure rises slightly faster than 1 atm per 10 m.
