AP Score Predictor

Predict your AP exam score (1–5) from MCQ and FRQ raw scores using subject-specific College Board curves

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the predictor convert raw scores to 1–5?

It scales MCQ raw (0–55 typically) and FRQ raw (0–varies) using College Board composite weights for each exam, then maps the composite to released cut scores: roughly 70%+ → 5, 55–69% → 4, 40–54% → 3, 30–39% → 2, <30% → 1.

Which AP exams are supported?

About 10 of the most-taken exams, including AP Calculus AB/BC, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics 1, US History, World History, English Language, English Literature, and Psychology. Cut scores reflect recent released exams (2017–2022).

How accurate is the prediction?

Within ±1 point on the 1–5 scale for most students. Cut scores shift slightly each year (Curve), and your FRQ self-score is the biggest source of error - be conservative when self-grading written responses.

Should I rely on this for college credit decisions?

Use it for prep planning, not enrollment. Final scores from the College Board are authoritative, and each college sets its own credit policy (often 3+, sometimes 4+ or 5 only). This tool is informational.
