How is GWA different from GPA?

GWA uses the Philippine 1.00-5.00 inverse scale; GPA uses the US 0.00-4.00 direct scale. The math is the same, just different numbers.

What honor rolls am I eligible for?

Common cutoffs: Cum Laude ≤ 1.75, Magna Cum Laude ≤ 1.45, Summa Cum Laude ≤ 1.20. Each university sets its own thresholds.

What is a good GWA? Honor classifications vary by school but typically: Summa ≤ 1.20, Magna ≤ 1.45, Cum Laude ≤ 1.75.

How to convert to US GPA? Roughly: 1.00 PH = 4.00 US, 1.25 = 3.75, 1.50 = 3.50, 1.75 = 3.25, 2.00 = 3.00, 3.00 = 2.00, 5.00 = 0.00. Each school may have its own conversion table.

Failed subject? A 5.00 still counts (heavily, unfortunately) unless explicitly removed from the term in question.
