What is horizontal projectile motion?

Does this account for air resistance?

How is the range calculated?

Range = v₀ × t, where t is the time to fall the launch height: t = √(2h/g).

Does a faster launch make the object stay in the air longer?

No. The horizontal and vertical motions are independent. Flight time depends only on the launch height, t = √(2h/g), because a horizontal launch starts with zero vertical velocity. Launch speed sets only the range, R = v₀ × t. Two balls rolled off the same table, one fast and one slow, hit the floor at the exact same instant; the faster one just lands farther out. Raising the height is the only way to lengthen the flight time.
